UUBO is pleased to have contributed to the Corporate Tax (Trends & Developments) Global Practice Guide 2025 published by Chambers and Partners.
In this contribution, Lolade Ososami, Joseph Eimunjeze, Kelechi Ibe, and Itoro Uwemedimo Etim of our Tax team highlight key trends and developments in the corporate tax regime in Nigeria, including adjustments to withholding tax (WHT) rates, strengthened tax registration procedures, and the debated windfall tax on banks.
It also covers VAT reforms aimed at promoting renewable energy, tax incentives for oil and gas investments, and the Federal Inland Revenue Service’s inaugural Guidelines for Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs). Additionally, we analyse major proposals from the Tax Reform Bills, which stem from the work of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, established in July 2023.
