Abolanle Ayoola is a Senior Associate and a member of the firm’s Banking & Finance and General Corporate Advisory teams and supports our sub firm U-Law.
She specialises in corporate and commercial transactions particularly corporate finance, structured finance, trade financing, project finance and banking. She has advised development finance institutions (including the African Export-Import Bank, International Finance Corporation, African Development Bank, British International Investment, Ecowas Bank for Investment and Development, and Africa Finance Corporation), financial institutions, energy companies and FMCGs.
She is instrumental in advising Qatar Islamic Bank in connection with a Murabaha Facility to Shoreline Power Company Limited, BII in connection with a term loan facility to Johnvents Industries Limited, D.light Inc. in connection with the Nigerian law and regulatory elements for operating a multi-jurisdictional receivables financing vehicle dedicated to acquiring local currency accounts receivables from D.light.Inc entities in various African jurisdictions, including Nigeria, the Coca-Cola Company in connection with sale of CHI Limited to UAC Plc, IFC in connection with Covid 19 working capital solution to Union Bank of Nigeria, Rand Merchant Bank in a senior term loan to Multi Pro Consumer Products, Anesvad Foundation in a working capital loans to a biological science research institute and a renewable energy company, Lagos State in connection with a N20billion Sukuk issuance.
Abolanle was also a crucial part of the team which advised the African Export-Import Bank in the granting of a $525,000,000 facility to an indigenous oil and gas company and advised purchasers including Citibank and Morgan Stanley in connection with a €260 million 6.875% Senior Secured Notes (due 2025) issued by Frigoglass Finance B.V.
Her experience also involves advising local and foreign clients on matters ranging from corporate and project finance, capital market (debt), joint ventures, regulatory compliance, general corporate advisory, healthcare, and restructuring. She has been ranked as a banking rising star by the IFLR since 2020. She was also mentioned as a recommended lawyer by the Legal 500 in 2024.
