The UUBO Private Equity Team is pleased to have acted as Nigerian Counsel to BioNTech SE, a German biotechnology company in its acquisition of InstaDeep Ltd, a company which provides and develops AI decision making solutions. UUBO conducted legal due diligence on InstaDeep Ltd Nigeria and advised on the Nigerian-law-related issues in the transaction.
This transaction follows BioNTech SE’s initial equity investment as part of InstaDeep Ltd’s Series B financing round in January 2022. The acquisition supports BioNTech SE’s strategy to build world-leading capabilities in AI-driven drug discovery and developing next-generation immunotherapies and vaccines to address diseases with high unmet medical needs. The transaction will add approximately 240 highly skilled professionals to BioNTech SE’s workforce, including teams in AI, machine learning, bioengineering, data science, and software development.
