We are pleased to announce our contribution of the chapter titled “Data Protection Laws and Regulations, Nigeria, 2024,” published in the International Comparative Legal Guides by Global Legal Group. The contribution was authored by our Telecommunications, Media and Technology and Data Protection Partner, Jumoke Lambo, Senior Associate, Chisom Okolie and Associate , Opeyemi Adeshina.
In this publication, the Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie data protection team shares perspectives on data protection laws and requirements in Nigeria. We addressed issues, such as the relevant data protection laws, registration of data controllers and data processors of major importance as required by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. We also considered issues such as the requirements for cross-border data transfers in transactions and general compliance requirements under Nigerian data protection laws.
