Our Pro Bono team, including Deputy Managing Partner and Practice Co-Head Ozofu Ogiemudia, Senior Associate Kelechi Ibe, and Associate Dumebi Anike-Nweze, had the privilege of visiting one of our valued pro bono clients, Hospitals for Humanity, at their open day at Diamed Hospital in Oniru, Lekki, Lagos State.
Founded by Dr. Segun Ajayi, Hospitals for Humanity is a healthcare organisation with a life-changing mission of providing free open-heart surgeries to children with congenital heart defects across Africa.
During our visit, we had the honour of meeting Dr. Ajayi himself, along with some advisory board members, who graciously showed us around the facilities. They shared powerful stories that brought their mission to life, allowing us to truly understand the magnitude of impact they are creating.
Witnessing firsthand the incredible work Hospitals for Humanity does in our community was deeply moving and served as a powerful reminder of why pro bono work remains such a vital part of our identity at UUBO.
Being able to support organisations that are saving children’s lives and transforming families fills us with immense pride. This is what legal service in its truest form looks like – using our expertise to amplify the work of those making an extraordinary difference in our world.
To truly understand the depth of their impact, we encourage you to watch their story: https://youtu.be/1-12cyaCvnY?si=JZ7y4rV-9d8kWJdZ
Proud to stand with Hospitals for Humanity in their mission to save little hearts across Africa.
