Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie hosted its 2nd Private Equity Fundraising and Deal Academy and Summit events on January 30th and 31st, 2020.
This two-day series, themed “Drivers, Disruptors and Unlocking Value,” played host to key players across the private equity and venture capital value chain as they discussed the evolving landscape of private equity in Nigeria, exchanged ideas and brainstormed ways the sector can be leveraged as a tool for socio-economic and business transformation.
Keynote speakers at the Summit included Zainab Ahmed, the Minister for Finance, Niyi Adebayo, Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, as well as Yewande Sadiku, the executive secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) and Mary Uduk of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Other speakers at the event included Wale Adeosun, Eme Essien Lore, Temitope Odukoya, Ayo Teriba, Alfonso de Campo, Benson Adenuga, Karima Ola, Danladi Verheijen, Taiwo Olatunji, Rotimi Oyekanmi, Ijeoma Agboti, Mezuo Nwuneli, Seni Suleyman and a host of others.
The Summit also drew attendance from international and local fund managers, regulators, development finance institutions and business leaders.
The impact of the new Finance Act and government policies on investments and small businesses, as well as challenges and opportunities in generating alpha in Nigeria were some of the topical issues discussed at the 2nd UUBO Private Equity Summit.
