Mr. Joseph Eimunjeze is an Associate in the firm's banking and finance team. His specialisations also include taxation, acquisitions, insolvency and corporate restructuring and banking regulatory compliance.
Joseph has advised various clients on banking and finance, telecommunications, private equity, power, infrastructure and petroleum sector clients on various finance and project finance matters and on derivatives, securities and foreign exchange restrictions.
His corporate advisory experience includes advising local and foreign clients on a diverse range of issues such as investment structures, debt-financing, restructuring, Islamic banking and finance, petroleum taxation and the restructuring of petroleum sector operations to achieve compliance with Nigerian local content's requirements and foreign investments in Nigerian real estate. He also helps to devise tax-efficient transaction structures for achieving compliance with other local laws and regulations.
He was part of the team that acted as lenders' counsel on debt and equipment financing for a major telecommunication company in Nigeria and on the acquisition by foreign clients of equity interests in certain oil and gas companies. He has also advised on a number of foreign term loan facilities advanced to Nigerian corporates, including a term loan advanced to a major cement company by a major international bank
